Imagine not having to wait in lines. Imagine getting the best seats in a restaurant. Imagine being treated with respect everywhere you go.
The way you dress can give you all this and more. Everytime you meet someone new, they will judge you within 4 seconds. Do you want to be seen as a loser or a winner?
In fact, dressing for success can save your life! I know that sounds like a bold statement but let me explain. One day I was on a business trip flying to Europe. I was dressed in a very nice suit and sporting a rolex watch and a gold ring. I looked the picture of success. As I was exiting the plane the stewardess said to me, "You look so nice that if the plane was to crash and I could save only one person, I would have saved you". Wow, I had never thought that dressing for success could save my life.
To properly dress, a man should wear a BLACK suit. On top of that you will also need a shirt and tie. By using the proper color combinations you can increase your percieved value.
If you were going to appear in the media, a blue shirt is the proper color to wear.
White is a good choice for a balanced and professional look. Red is the color of passion and would make a good choice if your were on a first date with a woman you were interested in. Pink and Yellow are top choices for when you wish to display power.
Women should wear black slacks and a white blouse that buttons up the front with a Mandarin collar.
In fact, my wife and I went to the Louis Vuitton store the other day to buy a handbag. We were both dressed very casually in shorts and t-shirts. It took us ober 20 minutes before a salesperson offered to help us. In the meantime, folks in suits who arrived after us were helped right away.
Here is an experiment the next time you go out to a restaurant. While everyone else wears jeans or shorts, show up in your suit. I'm willing to bet you'll get better service from the valet to the hostess to the waiter.

Cut Expenses To Live Better
In my last post I explained on how you should make your money work for you and not you work for your money.
The secret is to save 10% to 15% every time you get paid. Then take these savings and invest them wisely so your money makes more money.
If you can't save the money then you need to do one of two things (or both). Make more money or cut back on expenses.
Making more money doesn't mean you have to work harder, just smarter. Instead of working for $8 per hour, work for $16 per hour. You work the same amount but make twice as much.
When it comes to cutting expenses, you would be amazed at what you can cut. I want you to keep a notepad and every time you write a check, use a credit card, or spend cash, write it down. After one month (preferably three months) you'll be able to see how much money you waste on things that are not really needed (remember, you can buy these things later once you are rich, for now, our goal is to get rich).
This months assignment, write down your expenses, pay yourself 15% and try to live on the rest without going into debt. Next post we'll discuss some ways to increase your income without working harder than you are now.

Let Your Money Work For You
One of the questions most asked of me is:
"Will, how do you live so well but never have to work?"
Well I do work, but it is true I only work about 10 hours a week yet I live in a nice home, I'm a single parent and raise a teenager daughter (and that can be expensive), and I drive a luxury car which is only a few years old.
Let me tell you the secret.
Most people get far into debt because they want all the latest gadgets and fancy gizmos. When you get into debt you now have to pay others and then you must become a slave to some employer to earn money which you can then turn around and give to your creditor.
If you have a lot of debt, you will soon find yourself having to work two jobs.
My advice is to NOT get into debt. Only finance things that will make you more money. If it doesn't make you money pay cash. If you can't pay cash, don't buy it! It's pretty simple.
If you don't have bills, you can then work less and spend the extra time laying on the beach, travelling the world, spending time with family, etc..
Now that you have stopped incurring debt, it's time to start creating a bankroll that you can use for investing.
Every time you receive any form of money whether from income, tax return, gambling winnings, whatever, put 10% to 15% into a savings account. Always pay yourself first BEFORE you pay your creditors.
To increase your return, put your savings into a CD or Money Market Account. These pay more and your money will grow faster. (or as I have explained in a previous blog, in an investment that will return 100%).
What you want to do is to have your cash making more cash for you. You'll be making money while you travel, in your sleep, or while having dinner with family or friends.
Let your money work for you, NOT you work for your money. Get it?
Now you may be saying, "I can't afford to save 10% to 15%". I'll show you how to get over this in the next blog posting.
