In my last post I explained on how you should make your money work for you and not you work for your money.
The secret is to save 10% to 15% every time you get paid. Then take these savings and invest them wisely so your money makes more money.
If you can't save the money then you need to do one of two things (or both). Make more money or cut back on expenses.
Making more money doesn't mean you have to work harder, just smarter. Instead of working for $8 per hour, work for $16 per hour. You work the same amount but make twice as much.
When it comes to cutting expenses, you would be amazed at what you can cut. I want you to keep a notepad and every time you write a check, use a credit card, or spend cash, write it down. After one month (preferably three months) you'll be able to see how much money you waste on things that are not really needed (remember, you can buy these things later once you are rich, for now, our goal is to get rich).
This months assignment, write down your expenses, pay yourself 15% and try to live on the rest without going into debt. Next post we'll discuss some ways to increase your income without working harder than you are now.
